Describing the history and importance of the towpath canals, the National Canal Museum was designed with the whole family in mind. In addition to historic displays and explanations, there are hands-on activities for kids to explore. One is a 90-foot-long canal to navigate, complete with obstacles like locks, while another imitates the life of a canaller during their stays aboard these vital cargo ships. The museum sits right beside the Crayola Factory, a child-oriented hands-on art attraction that can be entered for free with an admission ticket to the Canal Museum.
